The Lady of Shalott

A web version of this poem can be found at The Lady of Shalott.

This 1833/1842 poem by Alfred, Lord Tennyson is not technically a fairy tale, but part of the Arthurian legends about Elaine and her love for Sir Lancelot. However, many paintings and images have been inspired by this story as penned by Tennyson. I have been asked at times to offer the poem as a maiden in the tower story with Rapunzel. Here it is.
