Notes About This Book:

The text included on SurLaLune appeared in the original printing of this title in 1912. Post Wheeler later revised his original collection, updating the names to more accurate spellings and adding four additional tales:

The Language of the Birds
Tsar-Morskoi the Sea-Ruler
The Mountain of White Sand
The Twin Brothers

I have taken the liberty of using the newer spellings from the revised edition with the older text since they are more accurate and aesthetically pleasing. However, since I believe the four additional tales are still under copyright, I cannot add them here.

Both editions of the book contained 12 color illustrations by Ivan Bilibin.

Here is the bibliographic information for the revised edition:

Wheeler, Post. Russian Wonder Tales. New York: Thomas Yoseloff, 1957. Revised edition.
