Looking for a particular collection of fairy tales
I'm trying to find a book that contained approx. 15-20 european fairy tales (which I read in hardcover edition from the mid-1970's) wherein one of the stories was called "The Imp and the Plow" and another may have been called "The Red Shoes." I can go into plot details for these if it helps. Author was female. Thanks!

Re: Looking for a particular collection of fairy tales
"The Red Shoes" was one of Andersen's stories. The other story is "The Imp and the Crust" and from what I could find it was retold by Tolstoy. The woman you refer to was probably the editor, not the author unless the stories were retellings.

Since there have been so many collections of fairy tales, it's hard to say specifically which one it is. You could try looking though the SurLaLune Bookstore (www.surlalunefairytales.c...ndex.html) to see if you can locate something similar.
