phouka Registered User (2/25/06 2:08 pm)	winged lions This is probably a stupid question...but are there any winged lions in mythology? I know that in Venice in St. Marks there are some in the square, but I was just wondering if they had any significance.

Van45us Registered User (3/3/06 12:40 pm)	Re: winged lions I believe they originated in ancient mesopotamia (Assyria and Babylon). They usually gave them the heads of their kings for obvious reasons.
