My teachers asked what Lon Po Po means. anyone know?

Lon Po Po is the Chinese version of the Little Red Riding Hood story I believe.

According to one site, "Lon Po Po" translates as "Granny Wolf."

Lon Po Po
I'd guess from what I know of Chinese sentence structure, and words for wolf in other languages, that it's actually the other way around: Lon is Wolf, Po Po is Granny. I know Po is the word for Grandmother, and I assume doubling it makes it a more personal term of endearment (?).

For a minute I wondered if Kipling had borrowed the term for his great gray green greasy Limpopo, but that's a real river in Africa, aside from being spelled differently. :-)
