movie from late 70's
I saw a movie as a child and can't remember the title. I do recall some general info. It was about a fairy and water creature. Not sure if he was a sprite, nymph, or what. But they fell in love. The fairy was destined to become the fairy queen. It was animated and on vhs. There's was a forbidden love, from two different worlds. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: movie from late 70's
This sounds like an obscure one, and likely a foreign film. Do you have an idea of the country of origin? And are you sure it was a film and not a short (possibly a collection)? It's reminicent of Once Upon A Forest, but the story doesn't match.

Re: movie from late 70's
It wasn't a short and I have no idea what country it was from. I remember the fairies were nude. I couldn't have been more than 5 when I saw it. I've checked Imdb and searched for plot with no success. I figured the only people that could help were those that were familiar with fairly tales and maybe saw the movie as well. It was on vhs when beta was popular.

Re: movie from late 70's
Nude fairies would suggest anime, although many early American cartoons used it and there's a scene in Fantasia with some. But as far as I can tell, it would have to be a foreign film. You could try searching through the archives at animenewsnetwork.com.

Sea Prince And Fire Child?
I haven't seen it, but from the description it sounds like an anime I've heard of called "Sea Prince and Fire Child."

Re: Sea Prince And Fire Child?
The ANN entry for it is here:
www.animenewsnetwork.com/...php?id=938
and a page on it here:
www.angelfire.com/anime2/...firechild/
It's actually an early 80s film (released about 82 in the US). There's a picture on the site. It's likely to have recieved only limited release and no theatrical release.
