Her "real" name? That's a tough question, given that there are many hundreds of versions of the Cinderella story. In your class, were you focusing on any one version in particular?

You could try looking through the list at the IMDB. www.imdb.com/find?q=cinderella;s=all
Most versions just list her as the fairy godmother. I think Ella Enchanted was one of the few to actually give her a name. So it all depends upon the version.

Just make it up, then. There's no real name beyond what you'll find in various movies, novels, short stories, etc.

Fairy Tales on Trial sounds fascinating! "Madam, have you any reason why we should not charge you for neglect in the case of Cinderella? And how do you explain the mental abuse behind the cruel nickname?" Given that it's a criminal proceeding, you might have fun researching as many names from as many versions as you can find, to demonstrate her criminal tendencies through her long history of pseudonyms ....

You might want to try Gregory Maguire's "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister".She has a name,and is severly complex,so it might be fun to put her on trial.
Also,again with "Ella Enchanted".Definitely my favourites retellings.

She has no name, there are hundreds of versions, even the most famous European versions, i.e. perrault, grimm and Basile do not give her a name, although you could go with Disney, in that he name is Lady Tremaine.

My daughter did a Fairy Tale on Trial but they used the 3 Little pigs. They made up their own names. It was a lot of fun. Enjoy!

Cinderella's stepmothers name is Lady Tremaine. Her stepsisters are Anastasia and Driscella. This should help!!!
