Sources of songs for stories
Does anyone know any good sources for the songs that go with some stories? I'm learning storytelling and I want to tell a number of stories. Some of them have songs that are part of the stories. For instance I have seen "The Juniper Tree" performed by a professional storyteller recently. I would like to perform it myself sometime but I don't know where the music comes from that goes with the song.
Your help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

You might look at Charles Vess' The Book of Ballads. At the end, it includes a Discography which provides several versions/sources for each of the 13 ballads--recordings and such. (It's also a great read:D .)

Thank you. I'll see if I can borrow it from a library. I'm interested in the songs that go with folk tales though, not ballads. I have plenty of recordings of ballads already, and some recordings from source singers.

Here's a link to a book with Song-Stories, written by Helen East. I saw her perform in the summer and bought a copy of this book. There's 28 song-stories in it. I'd just like to find more similar material. I'm both a singer AND a storyteller so this would be a good way for me to go.
