FYI: YA Lit panel for MMLA
For all you scholarly folks in the Midwest: (sorry I don't have indv. emails any more)
Midwest Modern Language Association is holding its annual conference in Milwaukee this year(Nov. 10-13). One of the permanet sections of the conference is on young adult literature--and it looks like the topic would be interesting for some of you on this board.
Here is the "Call for Papers" email I got:
Young Adult Literature: "Fantasy for Adolescents." Requesting proposals on any aspect of fantasy literature written for adolescents; especially interested in papers focusing on the influence earlier texts have had on Young Adult Fantasy as well as psychoanlytic theory and fantasy. Send abstracts of 500 words or less by April 15 to Melody Green (msgree2@ilstu.edu)
