Modern Interpretations of Emperor and the Nightingale
I am looking for modern interpretations of the tale to list on the Modern Interpretations of Emperor and the Nightingale. I have several already but I am looking for more. If you have more to add in addition to what I have already listed on the above page, please share here or in an email to me.

Thanks for the help!

My favorite is the one illustrated by Nancy Elkholm Burkert.

The Nightingale
Do web versions count? There's a short story version by Heinz Insu Fenkel that was recommended on this board a while ago which I happened to bookmark because I liked it so much. It's called Songbird and you can reach it through the author's web site, www.geocities.com/Area51/Rampart/2627/fenklpage.html

Re: The Nightingale
Don't know if this counts, but, Hallmark had a Hans Christian Anderson movie which had a small "The Emperor and the Nightingale" sequence in it.

Slightly tangential: I had my students look for the original story last semester for my class on Keats's "Ode to a Nightingale". Made for interesting discussion.
