Desperately seeking fairy poster...
...as in wall-picture, not 'someone who posts'...

...anyway...

Hello. Don't you just love it when someone comes along who hasn't contruibuted anything to a forum and immediately makes a whiney demand?

I am that person.

When on holiday in Nice (France, doncha know) last year me and my sister went into a comic/poster shop where my sister spotted this very good poster of a load of fairies. It was quite expensive so she pondered it over lunch and decided to go back in and get it, but it had already been sold. Boo. I would really like to get her this poster for her birthday, but I can't find it on any internet poster shop or anything like it.

The poster featured about 10-20 very different fairies like individual artist studies against a white background. All of the fairies were drawn full length from the front with apparently symetrical wings. There were old fairies, young fairies, ugly fairies, pretty fairies, fat fairies, thin fairies, miserable fairies, jolly fairies....in a sort of 'realistic' comic-book sketchy style.

Any clue as to the artist, or even just an image of the picture would be great. I couldn't find anything on Google :(

Many Thanks,

Dave.

Hi, Dave. While I haven't seen the specific poster in question, I don't think, the style sound's very similar to Brian Froud's. Have you checked his site?

Best,

Thinks...
Brian Froud's published work includes quite a lot of black on white sketches e.g. in the intros to Good Fairy/Bad Fairy.

One of my friends gave me this book and I found that the pictures were large enough to make it worthwhile dismantling the book so I could pin some of then pictures on my wall. There were also B&W sketches in his earlier book Fairies I think?

"...as in wall-picture, not 'someone who posts'..."

Made me laugh so I count that as a contribution.
