celtic curses
I need to write a curse for the retelling of Sabha's legend that I posted for a while back. But can't seem to get it right. It keeps coming out to modern sounding. Does anyone know of an example of one that I can look at?

Re: celtic curses
Are you looking for particulars of a curse, or just the language
in which a curse is spoken? In either case, you should definitely
have a look at the Mabinogion
-- curses and taboos make up much of its subject matter. Llew Llaw
Gyffes, the son of Arianhrod, is cursed by her to never have a name,
never bear arms, and never take a mortal wife, for instance -- but
as to the way it's spoken, it'll depend on the translation.

Re: celtic curses
I have an interesting little book called "Before
the Devil Knows You're Dead" by Padraic O'Farrell. It contains
many Irish toasts, blessings, and curses. Most of them are rendered
in fairly modern English, but the flavor is still present. Mr. O'Farrell
has also published a book of Irish superstitions and one of Irish
sayings. They're all published by Mercier Press, Dublin.
