Little Red Riding Hood will be an easy choice for your topic. My top recommendations for books would be:

Orenstein, Catherine. Little Red Riding Hood Uncloaked: Sex, Morality, and the Evolution of a Fairy Tale. New York: Basic Books, 2002.

Warner, Marina. From Beast to the Blonde: On Fairy Tales and Their Tellers. London: Chatto & Windus, 1994.

Zipes, Jack, ed. The Trials and Tribulations of Little Red Riding Hood. New York: Routledge, 1993. 2nd ed.

However, there are many, many sources listed on SurLaLune on the Bibliography for Little Red Riding Hood and Bibliography for Cinderella pages.

Also consider using Donkey Skin for your theme, although you could find enough about Red Riding Hood alone to write a book--others have.

Re: Help Please! writing a paper....
Hm, interesting question: I think that first off, it might be helpful to choose a subset of the enormous area of human sexuality. For example, if you were looking at hetro-normative fairy tales, you might consider the metaphors of passivity present in tales such as "Sleeping Beauty, " "Snow White," and "Rapunzel". Or you might consider issues of abuse and power in "Little Red Riding Hood," "Donkeyskin," and "The Maiden With No Hands." The possibilities are nigh-on endless ...

As to how sexuality is implied in fairy tales, its interesting to note that sexuality is almost always connotated through metaphors of magic ... literal enchantment is metonymically inserted in the place of sexual enchantment, more so in the later, bowdlerized versions, but even in very early works, implying a degree of distancing from the earthier, more literal elements of "reality" (this differs from culture to culture: I'm concentrating mostly on Western European tale-types in this response). As for the *purposes* of implying it? It's hard to think of a genre which doesn't, in some way, shape, or form address the issue. Could you perhaps clarify that a bit?

Regarding sources, I'd definitely reccomend the board-wide favorite, From the Beast to the Blonde, by Marina Warner, which addresses gendered issues in fairy tales with remarkable cogency.
