Summer Edition of The Endicott Studio for Mythic Arts
Terri--Aish, I am sorry if I have scooped you but I was so excited when Homeboyz emailed me that the new edition was live! I wanted to post the news right away.
I hope everyone has a chance to check out the new summer edition
of Endicott Studio for Mythic Arts. ( www.endicott-studio.com
)The site has continued to brush up it's look and I think it's really
stunning. (the art gallery piece on Jacqueline Morreau is really
fabulous--between Terri's informative text and the beautiful examples
of the work). There is also a terrific short story from Laurie Marks,
Terri's essay on Beastly Brides, and (humbly enough) the reprint
of my essay "The Monkey Girl" from Kate Bernheiemer's
"Mirror,
Mirror on the Wall."
Please note too on the home page the new "Friends of Endicott Studio" --here's an opportunity to support the future development of the site--(online donations as well as mailed checks.) There is also a choice of one to three of Terri's prints for specified donation amounts. Do have a look. (also for those you who might be interested in using Pay Pal instead--do let us know here--I set up the online system and this was an option--but I wasn't sure how useful it might be at this time)
Midori, your wish is my command...HAH

Re: Summer Edition of The Endicott Studio for Mythic Arts
Ok...that heading should really read Endicott Studio for Mythic Arts. (Heidi can I please impose on you to fix my mistake. I was just thinking faster than my fingers!)

New Community Board design
The Endicott Studio bulletin board has a new (and very cool and web-talented) designer Paul Hinze who has given our Bulletin board a great new look. If you have the chance stop by and take a peek--and do let us know what you think.
pub31.ezboard.com/bendicottstudioformythicarts
Paul will also be helping us work out the designs for the new Endicott Store that will be opeing soon--c/o Cafe Press. (we should a nice array of Endicott mugs, t-shirts, tote bags, bumper stickers...and whatever else we can think of! If you have a suggestion, let us know!)

Re: New Community Board design
You'll also find some new updates about Endicott's children's charities on the board. (The forum is toward the bottom of the list.)

New Music Recommendations
I have also posted a few new music recommendations--but would love to hear from others as well! My latest fascination is with the *from here to there* sort of music compliations (Memphis to Mali, Cuba to Congo...and most interstitial of all Senegal to Setesdal (in Norway)
If you have a CD of traditional music that you've wearing out the grooves on (ok I just dated myself to the album age) let us know! Thanks

PS...I moved the Children's Charities Forum up to the top of the page...

Annoying posting restrictions
If anyone had trouble posting on the Endicott Bulletin Board--my apologies. The problem is fixed and almost all the forums have democratic posting rights once more!

Academia
One more update: Helen has just started a Forum on the Endicott Bulletin Board for Myth in Academia and Library Sciences, a place to post info on "academic gatherings or collections that are concerned with mythic themes, from conventions on science fiction, to conferences on fairy tales, from anthologies of criticism on folklore and fantasy to compilations of the works of particular mythic authors. "
If you spot any info of this sort, please share it with other academics by posting it in the new forum.
(But keep in mind that this is a Bulletin Board -- for notices, info, and reviews -- rather than a Discussion Board like this one here at Surlalune. Our intent is to be an information resource, and to bring more people over to Surlalune discussions -- not to cover the same territory that Heidi already so excellently covers! )
