Teacher reading Ella Enchanted...
Happy to find this forum!
I am a teacher who is concluding the last chapter of Ella Enchanted with my students this week. I am looking for any ideas on celebrating this book with my students. We hope to plan a field trip to the movie in April. I'm just looking for an extra "bang" to promote this book and entice other students to read it who are not in my class. I want the display in my hallway outside my classroom to really portray the enthusiasm my students have had for this book.
On a personal level, nothing of late has compared to Maguire's "Wicked" for me...does anyone have any recommendations for similarly fantastic and compelling novels?

Re: Teacher reading Ella Enchanted...
While I have many recommended books on the SurLaLune site, especially in the bookstore, you might start with the fairy tale series edited by Terri Windling if you are a fan of Maguire's books. Here is a link to the series list:

Thank you...
I am very much enjoying this site, having loved fairy tales since childhood (my favorite being Hansel & Gretel as I grew up in the country & believed the witch was "out there" and always looked over my shoulder playing in the woods with my brother...)
I am so impressed with the wealth of information here.
Thank you for your suggestions.
