tales of power stolen
Hello Everyone,
I wondering if any of you have some ideas about tales of power or light being stolen, then used for bad sending the people into a state of impoverishment, and then the hero going to reclaim the power. Star Wars pretty much fits, but I'm looking for a fairy tale or myth. Thanks Scott

Persephone and Demeter
What about the myth of Persephone and Demeter? When Persephone is abducted, Demeter withdraws fertility from the world and goes on a quest to find her daughter. She figures out where she is, I think Hecate tells her, and refuses to restore fertility to the world until Persephone is restored to her. Meanwhile, people die and the other gods get worried because nobody's sacrificing to them, so Zeus forces Hades to relinquish Persephone for three-quarters, or possibly two-thirds of the year.
