Fables!!! (the comic book)
This is my favorite comic book. I especially like the mix of different fable characters, though Bill Willingham seems to be sticking to the european tales.
Any thoughts on this from anyone else?

I love Fables! I just found out about Fables a couple of weeks ago
when a friend insisted that I had to read them. I have since finished
reading the first three story arcs (Legends in Exile, Animal Farm,
and Storybook Love). It's such an addictive series. I think one
of the things that intrigues me the most is the idea of "happily
ever after" and how it's not as easy as the tales make it sound
and it doesn't always work out. I like what Willingham has done
with Prince Charming, who appears in so many tales. And I like how
Beauty and the Beast are struggling to make their marriage work.
And Bigby is SO cool! Which reminds me of another aspect that I
found intriguing: the past deeds amnesty. What parts of Fables'
portrayal of fairy tales do you find intriguing?

Another good one
is Aria. Myth and legend alive in the 21st century. Well done, too. There is a new one called Abadadzaba or something like that, by Crossgen. Ist issue is a good play on a world based on a cross between Oz and Neverland, and a girl searching for her kidnapped brother from this world into that one. My favorite comic of all time (next to Grant Morrison's Animal Man) was Books Of Magic, which is still opted for a future series and a film as well. Right now there are three pretty good young adult books based on the original comics out in bookstores. The writing in Gaiman and Ney Reiber's run on the series is some of the best I've ever seen, combining fairy tale, myth, mystery, and characters from every literary walk of life you can imagine. It is still out in trade paperback - I can't recommend it highly enough to people interested in fairy tales and well written urban fantasy.
