Ella Enchanted Movie
Thing of one of the worst things they could do when making one of your favorite books into a movie. No, not making it shorter. No, not taking out characters. It’s changing the entire plot of the damn book!
In the upcoming “Ella Enchanted” movie Prince Charmont will have his own fan club. Ella stands up to him and the court by singing Queen’s “Somebody To Love.” (Puh-lease!)
Does that sound anything like the true-to-fairytale book -- enchanting in all ways possible -- by Gail Carson Levine!?! The film’s creators are trying to turn an already wonderful story (with it’s ultra-romantic plot twists and beautiful characters) into “Shrek!” I’m so bitterly disappointed.
I just finished reading the book and was excited to hear it was being turned into a movie. Now I’m horrified and wish it wasn’t happening. I feel so awful for Ms. Levine.

Depends...
I am sure Ms. Levine is counting her money and reminding herself that the book still exists. It's what all writers do when faced with the Hollywoodization of their beloved stories.
