Horror Sleeping Beauty Revisited
Someone was looking for Sleeping Beauty as a horror story and I think I might have just found it. Today in class a friend of mine handed me Anne Rice's The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty...rivetting from page one. I don't know for sure how close it is to horror-horror (think slasher movie) as I have never read a book by Anne Rice before (I soon will be though). I don't enjoy vampire books that much I really prefer lighter fiction, but like I said rivetting from page one.

er...
...isn't that erotica rather than horror?

well...
Honestly, I wouldn't know. I've never read either. I only had read the first three chapters of the book durring a class and then gave it back to my friend. I was under the impression that Anne Rice wrote horror, but I honestly I have no clue.

Actually...
...I think it -is- erotica. Anne Rice wrote the sleeping beauty books under a pen-name, originally. A.N. Roquelaire.
(I know this because back when I was in sixth grade I found "The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty" in my Moms room. Gleefully, I smuggled it into my room, imagining some... thing quite different, let's just say. But hey, my best friend and I had hours of fun giggling over different passages. "Is THAT possible?" "Eww!" "Poor Beauty!")

Re: so funny
snicker...my mom accidentally gave me the entire series for my birthday when I was like 14, since I was a fan of Rice's Vampire books AND a fan of fairy tales.
...little did she know....
Until I was in college and she borrowed the books from my old bookshelf at her house...
2 years later...I discovered the books on her nightstand, well worn
from multiple...readings.
