Cinderella movie version
Anyone remember an old movie version of Cinderella that did not have a fairy godmother but a cluster of nuts that fell on the floor, cracked open and became the dress, shoes etc?

Czech/ GDR Production
It is/ was a co-production from what was then Czecheslovakia and German Democratic Republic, I believe from the early 70ies, filmed in both countries. The Royal Castle is Moritzburg in Saxony, by the way - when I was there a couple of years ago it looked vaguely familiar, until I remebered where I had seen it!
There is a site (in German only, I am afraid) that deals with the film:
home.nikocity.de/3hfa/home.htm
("Drehorte" shows the locations whereas "Mitwirkende" shows the actors.)
You might want to check if it is the film you are looking for, and maybe ask the people who run the site if they know the English title. Most Germans have a working command of the English language, so just write to them in English, I'd say.
I also know we had a thread on films some month ago, where everybody was supposed to list their favourite fairy tale movies. I know this one was mentioned, too - also with the English title. Sorry, I only remember the German one, which is "Drei Haselnuesse fuer Aschenbroedel" or Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella.
Does this help you any???

Thank you Thank you Thank you
Unbelievable! I have searched the net for ages trying to get a hint of this movie whether it was a title, actor, year, anything. I checked the web page you gave me and my first reaction was "Oh my God this is it!" Thank you for the info, it's greatly appreciated and now as I continue my search for a video I won't be going in blind. Thanks for the help.

Anytime!
Lina,
glad I could help you! The movie is one of my alltime favourites,
plus it had a strong Cinderella way before "Ever after"!
I just loved it as a little girl when she could shoot better, ride
better and climb better than any of the guys - plus she was a better
dancer ;)
Best regards, Lotti
