French Salon movies?
I noticed that several movies are about the writers or chroniclers of fairy tales. Does anyone know if there has every been a movie about the French salon movement or any of the leaders of the movement? It seems ripe for a BBC series or costume drama.

Re: French Salon movies?
I'm not aware of any movies about this subject, but I think it would be interesting. A&E or BBC might perhaps do it justice.

French Salon
I had the same idea a while back. The women of that movement would make a great topic for either a docu-drama or an independent film ala "Quills," etc. It's hard to find a lot of personal info on them, though. I have one book, maybe the only ever written on them, and I am blanking on the title. It is a good overview but not much on the central characters themselves. I kind of gave up the idea of writing a script on this because I felt if I couldn't understand them as individuals then I couldn't in all honesty do right by them. I didn't want to resort to making things up. Maybe someday....

Re: French Salon movies?
This would be a great area for a film. There was a murder plot involving Mme D'Aulnoy in which she actually had to flee the nation....Perrault was kicked out of the royal court...etc etc. etc. murder, intrigue, fairy tales, etc....would be a great film...
even put say 3-5 fairy tales in the film as they are telling them interspersed with the drama that these famous people went through....would be a really great
bbc, a&e, or English motion picture.
