Need help with regards to feminist quotes on fairytales
Hi,
I'm writing revising an essay I wrote a while back with regards to a videogame called ICO, and I'm currently attempting to introduce a section examining the title from a feminist point of view.
I've been searching the web for some quotes of Zipes and Tatar with regards to a generalised perspective on fairytales in general. Unfortunately I'm finding it harder than I expected.
I only need a couple of quotes, but they need to be without reference to any subject matter, or medium... A kind of a small overview of how feminist's believe folklore fairytales are represented in modern media.
If any of you could help, it would be much appreciated. Thanks

Some authors ...
Unfortunately, I'm away from my collection right now (visiting the folks for New Year's) or I'd just type some quotes out for you: right now, the best that I can do is to recommend some wonderful authors who might make mention of issues and concerns relevant to your needs. I'd recommend that you look at Terri Windling's _The Armless Maiden_, at Jane Yolen's
Touch Magic_, at Marina Warner's _From the Beast to the Blond_, at Elizabeth Wanning Harries' _Twice Told Tales_, and at Catherine Orenstein's _Little Red Riding Hood Uncloaked_. All of the above discuss the place of fairy tales in the modern world, and feminist perspectives. From what I recall, there are some intersections ... good luck, and happy New Year!
Best,
Helen

feminists and fairytales
just a wee suggestion to keep in mind ... there is no monolithic structure regarding fairytales amongst "feminists..." to quote one feminist is not to quote the interests and understandings of all feminists, just as with scholars on any given subject-- it is art, not afreement that links people to each other.
just my two cent's worth
