Elizabeth Ann Scarborough
has any one read any of the books in the Argonia series. they are:
Song of Sorcery
Bronwyn's Bane
The Unicorn Creed
The Christening Quest
they look kind like a fairy tale, but there are too few reviews to know for sure.

Re: Elizabeth Ann Scarborough
Also published as Songs from the Seashell Archieves 1 & 2 (2 books in each omnibus)
From The Encyclopedia of Fantasy by John Clute & John Grant:
"Each pair of tales, though set in the same amiable fantasyland, features different protagonists. The first is a young witch who sets out on a quest to rescue her sister, encountering en route various figures from the repertory of genre fantasy; eventually she succeeds, with the aid of a querulous unicorn. The second, a princess under a curse (she cannot tell the truth) has similar adventures.
...EAS finally turned - in the Healer's War...to a theme which demanded a straight face"
Not sure if that helps much; I used to assume they were lightweight fantasy and never read them...

Song of Sorcery and The Unicorn Creed are very well done light fantasy, with quite a few fairy tale references. The heroine's aunt, for example, lives in a gingerbread house, though she's a good witch and doesn't eat children. Bronwyn's Bane and The Christening Quest were not as well done, IMO, and I didn't finish either of them.
Her Godmother series, however, is intensively fairy tale and mythology oriented, and is utterly superb. Highly recommended.
