fairy/folk tale anthologies
I'm looking for a book I read forty years ago, but I think it may still be in some libraries. The cover is pale pea -green, and it shows a pen and ink drawing of a human tree. It includes the stories "Tom Tit Tot" (a Rumpelstiltskin-like tale) and "Whuppity Stourie". Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'm interested in buying it - if any one can help me, I would appreciate it.

Re: fairy/folk tale anthologies
Definitely is familiar. I think my sister had it (and may still have it). My recollection was that it was the same publisher (?) as the Blue, Liliac Fairy books, and "Back of the Northwind". I will ask her if she remembers it. It may take a few days though.

Re: fairytale anthologies
Rachael,
I struck out. My sister recalled the book, but nothing else about it. That leaves you in the same place you were. Be patient though and keep checking.
Another quick thought: my mother, years and years ago, used to work in the children's section of the University of Illinois library. They maintain an enormous number of books. It is one of the largest public libraries in the country. Maybe you could email the library and they could check for you. It is break at the University so this might be the best time.
Here is the website:

Good luck and let us know!

fairytale anthologies
I went to your suggested website, but ran into some trouble posting my query. I will definitely keep it in mind for future quests. However, I was home for the holidays and went to my town library, and a lovely lady there helped me locate my book! They had weeded it out years ago, but she remembered the book and was able to locate it at a neighboring library, The name of the book is "The Talking Tree: Fairy Tales from 15 Lands" selected by Augusta Baker, illustrated by Johannes Troyer. I'm searching for it online right now!
