Getting to know you...
Hello! I'm new to this list and I decided I might introduce myself. I just recently discovered this whole group. As a role-player, I got my initial involvement with the urban fantasy genre though the Changeling: The Dreaming game by White Wolf studios. It especially singles out many of Neil Gaiman and Charles De Lint's works as recommended material. It was awhile before I figured out it was a named genre in and of itself. And eventually I came to notice that many of my now favorite authors seemed to refer to each other in various reviews and introductions. That lead to my discovery of the Endicott group, and then here. So I’ve really only recently begun my interest. I’m currently working my way though the bibliographies in the back of the Fairy Tale anthologies. I hope to eventually read all, or at least many, of these various author’s works.
So aside from enjoying reading urban fantasy, I’ve grown into myths and folklore again too. This leaves me with a HUGE reading list that I despair I will ever have time enough to read and learn all I want to. But that’s really part of the fun and keeps things interesting.
In other news, I’m a web/graphic design major. Aside from reading I like to play role-playing games, watch anime, and I adore cats. I am a universal eclectic wiccan, which may show a little in some of the views I take on things. I’m also, as of last year a regular attendee at DragonCon. I love so many types of art and music. I recently caught an interest in learning how to be a Storyteller. I want to travel to many places someday.
Also, at DragonCon this year I saw the flyers for the Mythic Journeys convention. That looks very interesting! I hope to make some friends to meet up with there. That’s me for now. I may turn to lurking mode from time to time, but I’ll defiantly be about!

Re: Getting to know you...
Heya.
One of the White Wolf source books for werewolf piqued my interest in the Japanese Kitsune mythology. Interesting books.
I like cats too. ^^

Re: Getting to know you...
Hey, Mistypaw!
There's a whole long "introductions" topic somewhere on this list, but to recap (for myself):
I'm M. Pepper Langlinais (aka ZMethos), and while I'd *like* to
say I'm a writer--and I do spend a lot of time writing, if that
counts at all--I earn my living as a school textbook production
coordinator. I also like cats and anime! I'm working on my Japanese.
. . And I was once told by a crazy old woman who stopped me on the
street once that I was an Egyptian temple cat in a previous lifetime.
::shrug::
