Need help for some school work
In my english class, our teacher asked us to find a fairy tale, not too long (one or two pages max) and to adapt it to our time. I was wondering if anyone would know a good fairy tale that would be easy to adapt with modern settings, or have any suggestions for me. Thanks in advance for your help!

Grimms
I would suggest that you look at Grimms fairy tales. Many are short. Read through 4 or 5 of them. Then sit back and think to yourself what parallels you see in your life, or in society in general. This assignment isn't as difficult as it might seem. Don't be afraid to be creative.

Have you already read some modern interpretations? That might also help. If you look through the archives here, you will find discussions of some of these. The important thing here is to do your own thinking and be original.

By the way, the host site for this board has a lot of fairy tales to review. You may also wish to look at the endicott studio site.

Good luck - and remember, be original.

Old posts...
I just mentioned these in another post on fairy tale poems, but they would work here as well:

www.surlalunefairytales.c...plans.html

www.surlalunefairytales.c...cises.html

Think of the elements that are in some of the tales: shoes, colors, caskets, wishes, sleep, hair, family, relationships, frogs, cats, etc. They exist in the modern world as well as in the time when these tales were collected. Start with any element and brainstorm from there!

Hope this helps!

Re: Old posts...
I think I found one, in Grimm`s fairy tales, and was thinking I could post a link to it here, and see if people have any ideas to what i could do with it, although I`ve already written most of my *modern* tale, I`d be glad to have some fresh ideas from peeps who`s primary langage would be english (I speak French, living in Montreal).

Anyway, I`m just looking for ideas, as I don`t want someone to write a whole story for me...
