Birthdays...
I was just wondering, aside from the usual Sleeping Beauty tale where her birthday is the start of her destined sleep, what other tales involve birthdays? Coming of age tales, I would think, but I can't seem to come up with any others? Any takers?

I was racking my brain for this same topic yesterday since I did a birthday story time with my preschoolers. Sleeping Beauty was the only one that came to mind in the short time I spent on it.
I'll do some more hunting for other tales sometime soon.

Birthdays
There's a birthday in "The Sun's Cousin" in The Kingdom Under the Sea by Joan Aiken--the girl's birthday is midsummer's day, same as the sun.

And a very Happy Birthday to you as well! I forgot we shared it!
Of course, I was trying to forget it was my birthday- felt like
a curse this year, but that's due to a certain "wicked fairy"
in my life. Wish I had the day off! But my fiance gave me a lovely
World Tree/Tree of Life pendant that I'm actually using as inspiration
for a, surprise, surprise, Sleeping Beauty story.
Hmmm, I'll have to look up "The Sun's Cousin"- sounds fascinating!
