an announcement and a solicitation
Hello all.
My apologies if it seems as though I'm springing this upon you out of nowhere.
Firstly, I'd like to announce the first publication of Papaveria
Press, a small press dealing in fairy tales and related materials
which I have briefly mentioned here before. If you'd like, you can

for more information and a list of forthcoming titles as well as
take a peek inside the first tiny offering called Simple Stories.
The site is in its infancy and is waiting for my designer to give
it a makeover, so forgive its sparse appearance.
Secondly, you will notice on the website a forthcoming book entitled Under Her Spell, which purports to be a collection of poems and illustrations concerning bewitchments with a focus on the Snow Queen and which is scheduled for release in February of 2003. I would like to solicit submissions of poems, essays and illustrations for this work from those of you here in the forum who might be interested in such a thing. The contract will be discussed with those whose material is accepted. Heide, if this type of solicitation is inappropriate of me please let me know.
I have not yet determined the method of binding but there will most likely be limited edition hardbound volumes offered, much like what I am doing with Bird's Eye, the second title to be published. I can't know for certain until the material is in, as it is the content of the books which determines their bindings. For instance, one of the hardbound volumes of Bird's Eye will have a 3D cover in which long hair flows from out of a tower window - it's based on the tale of Rapunzel. And, of course, there will be handbound paperback versions available as well.
