Goble and Illustrations of Black Women
Hello -
This afternoon I saw an illustration/watercolor by Warwick Goble that was in an 1892 Pall Mall Budget issue. The illustration was of a former American slave who lived in Liberia and was visiting the UK. It was a lovely watercolor of this woman.
Are there other Goble illustrations featuring black people? Is there a source that you can recommend or museum collection to research?

another Goble fan!
As a lover of this man's work, I've been collecting scanty little bits as I find them. While not the most incredible artist ever, I enjoy some of his pieces enough to keep my eyes peeled for more.
To answer your question directly, Folk Tales of Bengal (1912, 32 plates), Indian Myth and Legend (1913, eight plates), and Indian Tales of the Great Ones (1916) might contain something close to what you're seeking.
