Kay Nielsen's Three Princesses
Does anyone here have a clear, crisp scan of Kay Nielsen's black-and-white piece of art depicting three princesses holding hands? (Heidi, Charles, anyone?) We're in the midst of updating the Endicott Studio web site, and I don't have access to the book I originally got it from. Not even entirely sure which book I got it from.... Can anyone help?

Re: Kay Nielsen's Three Princesses
Here are some sites I found re: his art:
nielsen.artpassions.net/nielsen.html
www.bantaba.net/cftemplat.../3076.html
www.bpib.com/illustrat/nielsen.htm
www.library.pitt.edu/libr...ielsen.htm
Perhaps their webmasters/mistresses could help?

Neilsen art...
Yes, I've got a good reproduction of a the drawing I think you're lookingof his: three princesses looking straight ahead holding each others hands. It was originally from EAST OF THE SUN AND WEST OF THE MOON.
The reproduction is in KAY NEILSEN, AN APPRETIATION written by Welleran Poltarnees and published by Green Tiger Press (1976).
There are lots of very nice b/w (and of course color) illustrations throughout the book.
Also I've been meaning to give you this bit of information for a long while so I'll just pop it in here while I'm thinking of it. There are many, many beautiful fonts and a treasure trove of public domain already scanned images from all of those turn-of-the-last century illustrators that we love to be found at: www.ragnarokpress.com/scriptorium
If you need a copy of the above illo as well as the other b/ws for future use just let me know and I can copy and send them along to Anita, okay?

3 princesses
Charles, thanks for the tip on that excellent web site. It's a treasure.
And yes, please, if you could scan the 3 princesses art and send it to Anita, I'd be very grateful indeed!

Nielsen art, Hansel & Gretel
Hey Charles & Terri & anyone else, I'm still looking for a good reproduction of the Nielsen Hansel & Gretel illus (woods/cottage) and have bought a copy of the '76 KAY NIELSEN edited by David Larkin, but it's not so good. Scriptorium has not scanned that particular image! (I asked them.)
Has anyone got a good printing that isn't alreadiy a poor copy of a previous printing (disturbing "moire" patterns).
My anthology going to press very soon and I so wish I could get a better image & all searches (online & in libraries) for the whereabouts of the original paining itself have turned up nothing.
Thanks, Claudia

Re: Nielsen art, Hansel & Gretel
Claudia,
I don't have your e-mail. E-mail me off the board and I will discuss what I have. I have two different editions of Nielsen's Grimms with the illustration and one is better than the other, but there appears to be a little bit of moire effect even in the better one.

What do you need? A 600 dpi scan?
