La Befana
I was hoping someone might know of a good reference to stories about La Befana, sort of the Italian version of Santa Claus. I am thinking about doing a project about her, and I would like to look at as many versions of the story as I can to kick my imagination in gear…

I've checked a number of websites, but they only contain a brief paragraph and I cannot seem to find a reliable source. Perhaps I am looking the the wrong places?

Any suggestions would be quite welcome and much apprectiated.

children's books
Most of the Befana retellings I know are children's picture books or in Christmas collections (like my Hark.) I know Tomie dePaola did one, as did Ann Rockwell and Ilse Plume. Probably others.
