anyone know....???
Hi! I remember a fairy tale that was in one of those big old anthologies I grew up with....a while back I saw it on Mikhail Baryshnikov's Tales From My Childhood, and now I cannot find the story anywhere! It was similar to Toads and Diamonds. In it the good girl runs across the 12 seasons and April I think it is gives her some spring flowers. Later on, if memory serves, the spoiled princess of the kingdom wants some sort of flower in the middle if winter and so the usual bad sister following good sister ensues...if anyone could tell me the name of the fairy tale or where to find it I would be very appreciative! Thank you!

I believe it's called "The Twelve Months." If you do a search, you should be able to find a text online to confirm if that's the one you're thinking of. Good luck!

Speaking of "Twelve Months"
There is a new picture book version of "The Twelve Months" by Rafe Martin and illustrated by Vladyana Krykorka. I haven't seen a single cover or illustration for it, but it has received good reviews. Rafe Martin wrote "The Rough-Faced Girl" which has become a grade school staple in many multi-cultural units. It also happens to be a wonderful book.

Sigh.... If only I could get my hands on review copies of these books. They would be so much easier to promote online.
