Fairy tale ads and images (pick-up from old posts)
I just picked up a copy of Premiere (August issue). On the cover is a picture of Reese Witherspoon dressed as Goldilocks. Inside, her photoshoot (which has little to do with the article other than, I'm guessing, her new movie Legally Blonde) is her dressed as other blonde fairy tale characters- Rapunzel, Alice, and Cinderella- all glammed up, of course. There was also a Banana Replublic ad at the T station near my company with a girl in a bright red long coat holding a goose that kept reminding me of Little Red and the Goose Girl.
Has anyone seen any more ads/images lately?

Re: Fairy tale ads and images (pick-up from old posts)
I haven't seen the magazine yet, but now I will have to look for a copy just to see how they do it.
Amazingly enough, I haven't been seeing many fairy tale ads recently, despite four days of staring at the tv earlier this month when I was extremely sick! I hate it when I am too sick to read.

Fire myths
Have you all seen the various Thermasilk commercials, using myth and fantasy to represent fire and transformation? One is of a dragon and a princess, one is of an ice-princess and balls of light that seem to be faeries, one is of a magician throwing flames at a beautiful assistant, one is straight out of Greek myth, complete with a rather gothic Medusa. Visually, they're rather beautiful -- more like British adverts than the usual American ones. I have a particular interest in them because I just did a job for the same ad company, writing a short story on the theme of transformation for the Thermasilk people (based on Beauty and the Beast and East of the Sun, West of the Moon.) I'm not entirely sure what they're going to use the story for at this point.... I think they're still figuring that out.
