Sleeping Beauty. Pls help me!!
What do you think about the Anti-femenist stuff on the movie and the storie (either by Charles Perrault or the Grimm Brothers) Sleeping Beauty? Do you think that it was sending a message to women and tell them that that's the way they are supposed to be? Or do you think that it has nothing to do with that?

Sleeping Beauty
Well, we have written quite a bit on this story...so you might find it useful to have a look at the archived discussions. Heidi has organized them by subject matter so you should be able spot the discussion without going through post after post.
or, you can check out an article I wrote on Sleeping Beauty that was republished at the Endicott Studio on line. Try www.endicott-studio.com....then click on the forum and check out the titles. I am toward the bottom I think. (Midori Snyder..."Sleeping Beauty") the article came out of a group discussion at WisCon a feminist scfi convention, along with Terri Windling and Heinz Insu Fenkle. Have a look and see if it answers any questions...or perhaps once you feel have an idea and want to try it out, spin it out here. Lord knows we are always ready to talk.

Re: Sleeping Beauty
Here's a quick link to Midori's Sleeping Beauty article, which gives
a brief history of the tale and discusses its feminist implications:
