Violence in Fairy Tales
Hi,
firstly thanx for all of your help,
I am now looking at violence in fairy tales,
the dancing hot shoes, the pricking of the eye, and Snow White being sent to be killed. I am trying to find secondary resource on them. I can't find them in the Use of Enchartment by Bettelhem. Please point me to some where that I can find them thanx

Re: Violence in Fairy Tales
I'm not sure what you're looking for exactly in a secondary resource, but Joseph Campbell's The Hero of a Thousand Faces explains and catagorizes the different 'violences' found in fairy tales... Edward Edinger's Ego and Archetype talks about the hero's journey and the role violence plays in the ego's journey etc.

If you're looking for the specific violences you've mentioned, that might be a little harder. You could try Carl Jung's writings for more info on archetypes.
