The Three Pigs by David Wiesner
I don't know if anyone is a fan of Wiesner, but his latest book is a new favorite of my own. He has written and illustrated a fractured version of "The Three Little Pigs" that diverges much further away than Jon Scieszka's "The True Story of the Three Little Pigs." It can't really be described without spoiling the plot changes, but it is great fun so be sure to look at a copy soon.
Wiesner, if you are not familiar with him, won the Caldecott a few years ago for "Tuesday." It is a book in which frogs go on a night time flight, so you will probably at least remember the book if you have ever seen it. That book ends with pigs flying and he explains that they have been waiting for a book of their own. They finally got it.

Heidi, I agree with you, Wiesner's Three Pigs is a fabulous book. I want to add another recommendation: The Very Persistant Gappers of Frip by George Saunders, illustrated by Lane Smith -- the artist who did Stinky Cheese Man. It's a small, beautifully designed, utterly hilarious book published by Villard/Random House -- worth the cover price for the pictures of the depressed goats alone. Of all the many books I've recently reviewed for Year's Best Fantasy & Horror, this was an absolute favorite.
