NEBA/NewEngland Booksellers Conference Just a quick question, but will any of you be at the NEBA conference at the end of September (I know some of you will be at Omega- hope it turns out well!) at the author signings, author dinners/breakfasts, speaking, etc.- it's back in Boston this year and I'm hoping to go. Just curious.

NEBA Kerrie:
I did not even know about this. I have mentioned it to my publisher in the hopes that we can do something. Thank you for mentioning it.
Now, what's Omega?

travel plans Kerrie: no, I won't be NEBA conference, sorry.
Stephen: Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York is running a weekend long conference on "The Sensuous World of Faerie: Nature as Spirit" -- looking at folklore about faeries and other nature spirits from around the world, and fairy tales, and exploring the ways those themes have been
used in the arts historically, and are still being used in contemporary fiction, painting, and music. Robert Gould, a painter from L.A., organized the conference, and it's being "hosted" by the British "faery painter" and filmmaker Brian Froud, and his wife, sculptor Wendy Froud. Omega invited me to be there to help with the panel discussions, and Ellen Steiber, from this board, will also be there teaching a workshop on writing magical fiction for children -- and several other writers/painters/folklorists are planning to come. If you want any more information on it, Omega's catalog of events is on their web site, www.eomega.com -- just go there and click on the names of Brian and Wendy Froud.
