Mythical writing endeavors...
Yes it's me, the crazy one, again!
(Blame the weather, the college students who just moved back to
Boston, or the fact I'm moving- or all 3)
I was just wondering, would anyone be interested in sharing their current endeavors in writing mythical fiction- either as a writing support group, that throws rough drafts at each other, or ideas, does writing exercises of some sort, collaborations, etc. Kind of an e-group thing that is moderated and closed so only invited people can read? (My writing group slowly dissentigrated a couple months ago and I think I'm having group withdrawal. I think moving to unknown territory is contributing and watching all of the college students gather into their groups.) I *completely* understand if people don't want to. Just curious about others' thoughts...
Kerrie
(writing exercises are currently my fave idea- need for focus!)

writing group Kerrie, if you don't find people to join you on this site, you could also try the Forum section of www.phantastes.com, or the Writing section of Salon magazine's "Table Talk": www.salonmagazine.com.
Good luck!

Re: Mythical writing endeavors... Kerrie -- I'd be interested. I'm working on several projects including a series of modern fairy tales and a novel. If you'd like to chat off the board feel free to e-mail me at CARRIE.MINER@asu.edu.
Cheers

Hello Kerrie :) Sorry to take so long but I've not been here for a month at least. The writing exercises were not for me, they were for an acquaintance but thank you.
I have been published just recently but in a very different field and it was extremely short and what is known as padding out a journal. Also, I'm not very good and I'm more of a reader than a writer.
At the moment I'm up to my neck in assignments for my degree (totally
unrelated to anything on this board) so I doubt I would be of much
use. However, I will try and keep a close eye on the boards here
and perhaps link up at a later date when not performing sine waves

Re: Hello Kerrie :) My life is in turmoil right now. I've just left my old job and am starting on a new one (totally unreated to myth). The money and the position are better, but the commute may be a killer. My book "Medusa: Solving the Mystery of the Gorgon" has been out for a couple of months, but there hasn't been a single revew of it anywhere (including on Amazon.com). This is driving me nuts -- it's not like waiting for the OTHER shoe to drop -- I'm still waiting for the FIRST one to drop! I have no idea how well it's selling, except for the slow rise in my ranking on Amazon.com (I'm now up to about 520,000 -- which places me below some out-of-print books).
BUT...
I still want to write, and to talk about writing. I want to do a few other articles and books on myth (I'm working on Orion right now) and some fiction (I have yet to get my fiction published anywhere besides the Net). So I'm interested in getting together, and I live in the Boston area. My e-mail is swilk@mediaone.net .

Hello Stephen :) I'd love to review your book, but there are 2 probs:
1) I review romance books for Romantic Times (is there any mention of relationships? I gave them an article proposal I may be able to include it in)
2) I started reviewing for Rambles but still have to send in my edits before I can review anything else. You may want to check their site out (link on Terri's site).
I'll see if I can pick up a copy and get to Amazon soon. (provided
the seams in my pocket don't tear and lose my plastic cash)
Getting together about writing is great! What's your style for working? Story swapping, editing work, idea bouncing... I'm at work right now but will be home @ 4:30 (I hope) and will send an email out then.
Any more takers? kerriec@mailandnews.com
