Guy Maddin
In connection with a semester-long art project, one of my students today gave a presentation on Guy Maddin's films--primarily "Careful." His literary references clearly include fairy tales (as well as so many others I won't list here unless anyone wants me to...). I am appalled that I hadn't been introduced to his work before now. I'm completely enthralled by it.
Is anyone on this board currently writing about his films? I may start a piece--I have a big idea breweing (not that I have time for a new project)--but I am curious first to see what was in progress out there. Not much to find on him elsewhere at present.
