In search of: Guest Annotators
I have many tales on SurLaLune waiting to be textually annotated although I have listed modern interpretations, illustrations, similar tales, etc. for the tales already. My work load and such might keep those tales waiting indefinitely, especially since I am considering etexting Burton's version of Il Pentamerone in the near future to accompany SurLaLune's unique texts of Straparola's Facetious Nights, Cox's Cinderella, and Madame d'Aulnoy's tales in English.

In hopes of finally getting some annotations completed, I am accepting applications for guest annotators. All tales needing annotations are marked with an asterisk (*) on the front page of SurLaLune. I am not accepting annotators for the tales not marked with an asterisk. If you only want to submit a few annotations for one or more of the designated tales, that is acceptable also.

There is no financial compensation for your work. However, there is great satisfaction in helping students and others around the world understand and appreciate our rich folklore heritage. Your work will remain under your copyright to use again as you please, but any unique compilation, such as the combining of my annotations with yours and others, will be copyrighted to SurLaLune.

I will still be the editor and coder. I only need text submitted with a complete bibilography. I don't care which citation method you use as long as it is complete and accurate, giving full credit to all resources and references. I will adapt everything to SurLaLune's citation methods. I have completed a similar project in years past for Snow White and will use a similar technique for the newly annotated tales.

If you are interested, please email at surlalune at aol dot com and let me know what tale you are interested in, etc. Students, hobbyists, professionals are all welcome. I'm not as interested in credentials as much as enthusiasm and accuracy.

Re: In search of: Guest Annotators
And the Snow Queen has now been claimed also.

The remaining tales are:

Firebird
Fisherman and His Wife
Golden Goose
Nightingale
Thumbelina
Ugly Duckling

I have actually started the annotations for some of these tales, but haven't had time for extra research and reading yet. If anyone wants to submit just a few annotations, not necessarily enough for an entire tale, please feel free to do so. Your submissions will be fully credited. It's been fascinating to see what each person pulls from the texts, often adding content I wouldn't have discovered or considered on my own.

Thanks especially to all of the guest annotators! Several tales have now been completed thanks to their hard work.

Re: In search of: Guest Annotators
There is only one remaining tale to be claimed for annotation:

The Firebird

I'm also accepting a few notes for the tale with bibliographic citations, especially from anyone well versed in Russian folklore. In other words, if you have annotations for the tale but aren't interested in slogging through the entire tale, please feel free to share what you might have.

I'm also still willing to accept requests for new tales along with annotations.

Thank you to all of the guest annotators!

Re: In search of: Guest Annotators
How about "The Twelve Dancing Princesses", and yes... "if" you need help with it, I'd love to try.
