The Lost Garden
Hi everyone. I'm new here but I've been writing books since I was seven years ol.d The stories that have really caught up with me are the fairy tale/fantasy/horror kind and i have decided to write a fairy tale as my second novel.

My first novel was also a fairy tale but taking place in modern society and dealing with superhero themes.

My second novel is already under the title The Lost Garden and it's a myth I made up on my own. It's a myth where a cursed landscape is forbidden from its residents because of the horrible news that the people who enter this cursed landscape never return.

That is why the residents call it the Lost Garden, because no one except who enter know what it looks like. After a group of teenagers enter and never return, many of the people decide that anyone seen walking near the entrance or even walking by it will be arrested.

One night a young man by the name of Juan Carlos Santos is visited by a walking unicorn named Armel. Armel tells Juan he is the only hope in defeating the curse and the ultimate horror that hides and rules the Lost Garden. Juan is told by Armel that he is to enter the Lost Garden and defeat this horror to break the curse and bring peace to the land.

Juan goes through a lot of dangerous tasks and solving complex puzzles to enter the dreaded Eternal Maze where this horror awaits him.

All in all the story, as it progresses, reveals the reason why Juan was chosen and why he is destined to save his land which Armel the Unicorn treats as his kingdom.

I would really like to hear from everyone and your opinions on this topic. I would also love to hear more suggestions and ways you can help me write a great horror/dark fairy tale. Thanks in advance. :)

Re: The Lost Garden
I read a story similar to this a while ago. It was a short story revolving around a maze. No one was allowed to go into the maze or they would be lost forever. A boy followed his lost goat in and did make his way out somehow. I can't remember the title but you might like to read it. I will do a little brainstorming!

The story is The Changing Maze by Zilpha Snyder.

Re: The Lost Garden
Interesting. I feel like reading that. My fairy tale has all of my fairy tales combined into one whole story. Each character has its own meaning and importance to the adventures of my main character.

From a talking unicorn that walks on its two hind legs to a horrifying creature from the eternal maze that loves to skin people alive to the fountain of youth to a merman king, this story has romance and drama, but it also has horror in it. Hopefully this story will see itself being published in 2 years or more.
